Detox Diet Recipe: Dandelion Mixer
Detox Diet Recipe That Focuses On the Liver
Did you know that dandelions are considered by many authorities as one of the best herbal liver remedies around. If you have signed up for the mini-course or even read more pages on this blog you have probably already read more about dandelions.
How does the dandelion help the liver, you ask? Well, studies have shown that this herb increases the flow of a substance called bile that flows to and through your gall bladder. Bile aids in the breakdown and digestion of fats and other food products. Because of this increase in the flow of bile, the liver is less congested. In fact, taking dandelions, whether as a meal or as a juice also helps to decrease any bile duct inflammation, helps with gallstones, and improves conditions such as hepatitis (liver inflammation) and jaundice.
As far as nutrients go, dandelions have more vitamin A in them than do carrots, but are also high in other vitamins and minerals. Because of these nutrients and other substances in them dandelions are thought to improve liver function. And, since the liver is one of the organs essential to detoxification of body, any thing that helps the liver will help natural body detoxification.
